Looking back on Solidaritrips France!

Every year since 2011, Solidaritrips give Maisons du Monde and Distrimag employees the opportunity to discover the non-profit projects that we support around the world, with employees selected from a random draw. For the first time this year, the trip took place in France to learn more about the “Vergers d’avenir” (orchards of the future) programme from Conservatoire Méditerranéen Partagé, which we have supported since 2021.

Five days of immersion in the “orchards of the future” programme!

With its “orchards of the future” programme, the Conservatoire Méditerranéen Partagé helps to preserve rare and ancient fruit varieties of the Mediterranean basin. In the course of their Solidaritrip, participants got to contribute to this project by taking part in a range of activities:

• Maintenance of orchards
• Market gardening
• Learning about growing chestnuts & grafting chestnut trees
• Discover biodiversity excursion
• Herbal tea making & tasting

As well as all the activities on offer, Solidaritrips is a chance to embark on a great, human adventure, filled with wonderful moments of interaction and exchange between participants, members of the association and stakeholders.
