Coming together to protect trees

Created by the Maisons du Monde Foundation in 2018, our movement for trees aims to raise awareness and encourage everyone to take action for the preservation of trees.
From April 16 to 26, 2025, the movement continues its mission to educate by inviting Maisons du Monde customers, employees, and the general public to journey into the heart of the forest and discover the actions carried out by our partner associations through an immersive and inspiring experience.
In 2025, to celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are launching a unique initiative to raise awareness among Maisons du Monde customers, employees, and the general public about the importance of protecting trees. From April 16 to 26, 2025, everyone will be able to discover our work through a series of immersive content:
Inspiring videos showcasing the projects we support around the world
A solidarity book, “Journeys into the Heart of the Forests”, with all proceeds donated to the association Cœur de Forêt
A special in-store event on April 26, featuring nature workshops, a prize draw, and documentary screenings in a 100% Maisons du Monde cinema-style setting
At the same time, we are organizing “green days” for Maisons du Monde employees to celebrate these 10 years of on-the-ground commitment.
The goal? To share our mission, raise awareness about the preservation of trees, and encourage them to take action alongside our partner associations.
Our commitment began in 2018 with the launch of the “Aux Arbres!” event — the first major gathering dedicated to raising awareness about forest preservation. The program included conferences, panel discussions, meetings with environmental associations, workshops, film screenings, and more. In total, over 5,000 attendees came together around experts, key voices, businesses, and associations invited for the event.
In 2019, the Maisons du Monde Foundation decided to develop formats tailored to professionals and children. Nearly 200 partners attended an evening event to learn about the challenges of forest and biodiversity preservation. The version designed for children was held in five cities across France, inviting parents and kids to reconnect with nature through sensory walks, creative kits, nature journals, and hands-on workshops.
The program continued in 2021. Maisons du Monde customers and the general public were invited to calculate their forest footprint with the association Envol Vert to become more aware of their impact, to take part in the planting of 10,000 trees in France with the Fonds pour l’Arbre, and to share their small everyday actions for the forest on Maisons du Monde’s TikTok account.
In 2022, the Maisons du Monde Foundation also partnered with the Nuits des Forêts festival, an event known for its environmental commitment and unique programming deep in the woods.
Convinced that reconnecting with trees and raising awareness about their preservation is key to protecting them, the Maisons du Monde Foundation partnered with the We Love Green festival — an event known for its environmental commitment and woodland setting — from 2022 to 2024. Over these three years, we created immersive experiences to help people reconnect with trees and raise awareness in new ways.
At our stand, festival-goers could take part in sensory challenges, shop in a pop-up supermarket to explore their impact on forests with the association Envol Vert, create floral crowns and botanical jewelry, and even make plants “sing” thanks to an interactive art installation by the artist duo Scenocosme.
Throughout all three editions, one central theme remained: encouraging festival-goers to unlock funds for our partner associations by taking part in the activities.
Thousands of people gathered at our stand each year — a powerful reminder of the collective strength we have when we act together to protect our trees.
10 years of commitment — and we’re just getting started
Let’s keep working together to protect our forests!
The programme “Aux Arbres!” aims to raise awareness of forest conservation to children and adults alike, present solutions that are within their reach, and invite them to act both individually and collectively.
Maisons du Monde Foundation contributes to the protection of forests and trees all over the world through two means of action: the financial support and assistance for associations on a medium/long term basis and the introduction of programmes to improve environmental awareness.
